Kalindo granted bail

The Senior Resident Magistrate Court in Lilongwe has this afternoon granted bail to activist Bon Kalindo.

He is being accused of acquiring a firearm without permit.

Delivering his ruling, Senior Resident Magistrate Shukulani Kumbani said Kalindo has been given bail on condition that he reports to Central Region Police once every fortnight, he pays a bond of K300,000 and his surety bonded for a non-cash sum of K250,000.

The court has scheduled 30 April for plea taking and directions.
