Deputy Secretary to the Office of President and Cabinet, Janet Banda, has stressed that continued collaboration between stakeholders remains key if the country is to achieve its development aspirations, as spelled out in Malawi 2063.
She made the remarks in Lilongwe during the official opening of the Pillar and Enabler coordination group annual meetings.
Banda said the latest report on the progress of the Malawi 2063’s first 10 year implementation plan (MIP1) by National Planning Commission (NPC) shows that 44% of key interventions are either on track or completed.
She said the progress is encouraging and shows that through continued collaboration, Malawi can achieve more in the coming years.
NPC’s Director General, Thomas Munthali said even though the country has faced many challenges, including economic instability, progress has been made.
Munthali commended the government’s ATM strategy as a critical intervention for attaining MW2063 and urged for manufacturing to be included among the key focus areas to further the vision’s success.
