President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has arrived in Sharm El Sheikh – Egypt for the COP27, United Nations Climate Change Conference.
Upon arrival at Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, Dr Chakwera was welcomed by Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Dr Ashraf Sobhy, Malawi’s Ambassador to Egypt Catherine Kunje, and Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Eisenhower Mkaka among other top officials.
The President will join over 90 Heads of State and Government at the World Leaders Climate Change Summit to discuss ways of reversing the adverse effects of climate change on people, especially in developing countries such as Malawi.
The theme for COP 27 is ‘Delivering for the people and the planet.’
