‘Chacha’ donates laptops to underprivileged girls

First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera has stressed the importance of collective efforts in empowering Malawian girls.

She was speaking after Malawian US-based influencer and philanthropist, Chawezi ‘Chacha’ Banda, donated laptops to underprivileged girls in Malawi under the First Lady’s Shaping Our Future Foundation.

“The generosity of individuals like Chacha Banda is instrumental in providing opportunities for our girls to succeed.  With limited resources, initiatives like these make significant difference in the lives of many,” Chakwera remarked.

She also expressed her appreciation for the generosity extended towards the future of Malawi’s young women and was hopeful the laptops will have a huge impact on the girls’ education.

Banda, who is also the founder of Chacha Care Homes in the USA,  expressed her commitment in supporting underprivileged girls through education.

“I am inspired by the remarkable work of the First Lady.  As someone who empathises with the struggles of underprivileged girls, I felt  compelled to contribute to this noble cause,” she said.
