Bullets reach FDH Bank Cup final after historic floodlight victory

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have advanced to the final of the 2024 FDH Bank Cup after a 3-1 victory over Moyale Barracks.

The match, played under floodlights at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, marked the first time in decades that a game of this magnitude was held under such conditions.

Babatunde Adepoje was the hero of the evening, scoring a brace for the defending champions, while Ephraim Kondowe also found the back of the net. Moyale’s Emmanuel Allan, the tournament’s leading scorer, provided the consolation goal, bringing his tally to nine.

This victory secures Bullets spot in the final for the third consecutive year. They will face Blue Eagles, who earned their place in the final with a 2-0 win over Karonga United last Saturday. The upcoming final will be Eagles’ first appearance at this stage of the tournament.

Last year, Bullets clinched the FDH Bank Cup by defeating MAFCO FC 3-0, also at Bingu National Stadium.
