JOB VACANCY: PRINCIPAL SPORTS PRODUCER & PRESENTER
An opportunity has arisen to engage a qualified and experienced person to fill the position of
Principal Sports Producer and Presenter at Chichiri Broadcasting House—Blantyre.
MBC therefore invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill
this position on a permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Content Production & Presentation: Produce, edit, and present engaging sports
programs for both radio and TV.
• Sports Commentary: Provide live commentary for various sports events, including
Football, Netball, Volleyball, Basketball, and Athletics, on both Radio and TV.
• Multiplatform Storytelling: Write compelling sports stories for Radio, TV, and
Online platforms.
• Program Development: Develop innovative sports show concepts that attract and
engage audiences.
• Research & Scripting: Conduct in-depth research and prepare scripts for sports
segments and interviews.
• Live Coverage Management: Coordinate live sports coverage, ensuring technical
and editorial excellence.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the production and editorial teams to ensure
consistent and high-quality content delivery.
Required Skills & Attributes:
• Self-Starter: Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and meet
deadlines.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in audio and video editing software.
• Versatile Presenter: Confident on-camera and on-mic presence.
• Strong Writing Skills: Ability to write clear and engaging sports stories across all
platforms.
• Sports Knowledge: Broad understanding of multiple sports disciplines and their
rules.
• Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced media environment.
• Team Player: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
• Degree in Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field?
• Three years experience in sports broadcasting or media production.
• Strong portfolio showcasing sports commentary and production work.
