Three people have died and one has sustained serious injuries in a fatal head-on crash at Four ways, just before St Maria Gorretti Primary School in Nkhata Bay.
Nkhata Bay Police publicist, Kondwani James, said the accident happened on the night of Thursday involving a motorist (Kabaza operator) who carried two passengers on a non registered motorcycle and a Honda Fit.
“I can confirm that the motorcyclist died on the spot of the accident and the two pillion passengers, a male and female, were pronounced dead upon being taken to Nkhata Bay District Hospital while the driver [of the vehicle] is receiving treatment,” he said.
According to James, an angry mob descended on the vehicle before setting it ablaze.
Police have since bemoaned the tendency.
