The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has announced that all players and officials will wear black armbands during Match week 10 of the TNM Super League in memory and honor of former Vice President, Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima, and eight others who died in the June 10, plane crash.
According to a statement from SULOM, a minute of silence will be observed before each match. This gesture aligns with the call from the Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) for all sports stakeholders to honour the departed souls during the country’s 21 days of mourning.
In an interview, MNCS spokesperson Edgar Ntulumbwa urged for peace as sporting activities resume following a temporary suspension.
