Simkonda dies

Ex-Moyale Barracks FC Captain, Andrew ‘Andy’ Simkonda has died after a short illness at Chitipa District Hospital. His brother, Gustin, has confirmed.

Moyale Barracks announced the death on their Facebook page and revealed that the burial will be held on Friday at his home village in Ipenza, Traditional Authority Kameme in Chitipa.

Gustin revealed that his brother was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday where he was later pronounced dead due to low blood sugar.

Andy represented Flames Under-17 in 2009 and came on the limelight in the 2011/12 Season of the TNM Super League where he scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 thrashing of Embangweni at Mzuzu Stadium.
