A police officer has donated school uniforms and shoes to 11 needy students at Thandwe Junior Primary School in Lilongwe.
The officer, Gladys Chimwanza Kanyangalazi, who is stationed at Kawale Police, said she took advantage of her stay at the school where she is providing security during Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) registration exercise, to identify the challenges.
“It’s pathetic that girl’s quest for education gets derailed and most of them end up into early marriages,” she said.
The school’s Headteacher, Failos Stewart, expressed gratitude for the assistance, saying it will motivate the learners to work hard in class.
