MHRRC in awareness campaign on ToP

The Malawi Human Rights Resources Centre- MHRRC says increasing awareness on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) has potential to bridge the knowledge gap on the Termination of Pregnancy-ToP Bill among Members of Parliament and the citizenry.

MHRRC Breaking Barriers Project Manager, Enock Chinkhuntha, said this in Mzimba during a dialogue session with traditional leaders from Mzimba North.

“We expect that the session will increase individual awareness about SRHR as a human right, increased access to SHRR resources, information and services, stronger and more inclusive movements for SHRR and ToP bill to be passed into law,” Chinkhuntha said.

Senior Chief Mtwalo said chiefs of Mzimba North will make sure that the awareness reaches masses in their areas.

MHRRC in collaboration with the Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation, Malawi Sexual Reproductive Health Rights Alliance and other organisations are conducting the exercise with support from Amplify Change.
