Malawians urged to protect personal ID information

Ministry of Information and Digitalisation has urged the public to exercise caution when sharing personal identification information to prevent identity theft and fraud from imposters.

In a press statement, Minister of Information and Digitalisation, Moses Kunkuyu says people should always verify the identity and credentials of all individuals requesting to access their national Identity Cards.

He adds that legitimate representatives of government agencies always provide clear identification and official documentation before requesting for any personal identification documents.

The minister has since urged the public to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
