Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has launched an investigation following allegations of corruption that have been levelled against certain judges.
This has been announced in a statement released by the Commission.
“The Commission has noted with concern recent allegations circulating on social media, accusing various members of the judiciary, including Judge Kenan T. Manda, of corrupt practices,” part of the statement reads.
The JSC has emphasised that a special investigative process has been initiated, aiming to complete the investigation within four weeks.
The Commission will also be investigating Child Justice Magistrate Diana Mangwana.
The investigation follows comments by Lawyer Alexious Kamangila, who questioned the integrity of the said judicial officers on social media.
The judiciary has come under the spotlight after Kamangila accused some judges and fellow lawyers of corruption.
