Former President Dr Joyce Banda has stressed the need for countries to strengthen their governance institutions, create opportunities and have the political will to fulfil the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Dr Banda said this upon arrival at Kamuzu International Airport from Brazil where she attended a panel discussion on the implementation of the SDGs.
According to the former President, her contribution to the discussion centred much on peace, justice and effective institutions.
Dr Banda argued that leaders need to pay attention to development projects and issues that affect the people at the grassroots for countries to sustainably develop.
