First Lady Madam Chakwera has urged both organisations and individuals to work together in helping underprivileged learners in the country attain a bright future.

Madam Chakwera says already, the Foundation is making a significant impact in the lives of needy boys and girls who are on its scholarship programmes and that most of them are performing well in their studies.

For instance, she says out of the students under scholarship who sat for last year’s Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations, 13 have qualified for University Education.

The First Lady then took time to appreciate individuals and institutions that are making a difference in the lives of the vulnerable young people by donating to the foundation or through other means.

She said this during a fundraising dinner dubbed ‘Shaping Our Future’ hosted at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre on Friday.
