Dr Chakwera drums up support in the North

President Dr Lazarus Chakwera says the vote from the north during the 2020 election remains the engine for the various development projects being spearheaded in the region.

Dr Chakwera, who is also Malawi Congress Party (MCP), presidential candidate during the September 16 General Elections, said this in Mzimba District during the party’s Northern Region official campaign launch.

He mentioned the Mzuzu University Library and the rehabilitation of the M1 Road from Kacheche to Chiweta as some of the notable projects.

In his speech, Dr Chakwera mentioned his five point manifesto plan which, among others, encompasses food security as one way of fighting hunger in the country, job creation, governance reforms and public service delivery.

At this point, Dr Chakwera assured the gathering that his second term will improve and implement more development projects for the social economic development of the country.

He then called upon the people of the North to continue supporting his bid and the MCP for continued development.
