Over 600 schools across the country are now benefiting from the Ministry of Education’s Simplified Digital Learning System for junior learners.
The ministry introduced this system through a programme called Building Education Foundations through Innovation and Technology (BeFIT) in public primary schools.
It aims to enhance literacy and numeracy skills among learners by using tablets to teach pupils from Standard 1 to Standard 4.
Spokesperson for the Ministry, Mphatso Nkuonera, praised the programme as it has improved school enrollment since its inception last year.
At least 3.5 million learners drawn from 6,000 public primary schools are set to benefit from the deliberate initiative.
BeFIT is a six year programme which is implemented by a consortium of stakeholders including government.
