President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has hosted world-renowned Malawian archaeologist Professor Yusuf Juwayeyi and his wife Elsie at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre.
During the courtesy call, Dr Juwayeyi, who is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Long Island University in New York, presented Dr Chakwera, with an autographed copy of his latest book, “Archeology and Oral Tradition in Malawi: Origins and Early History of the Chewa.”
The book is based on his seminal discovery and excavation of the first major Chewa settlement at Mankhamba near the southern part of Lake Malawi.
