The progression of innovative projects by students at the University of Malawi has impressed the National Bank of Malawi, prompting them to offer K2.8 million as support of the projects.
The students have developed monitoring systems for ATM’s temperature and humidity and monitoring parameters of diesel generators.
Christopher Chilenga, the Bank’s designate Head of Information Technology, acknowledged that most students’ projects have shown potential to improve the bank’s efficiency.
Chilenga was speaking in Blantyre during a showcase of the project at the bank’s headquarters.
One of the students, Bridget Matilesi, praised the bank for its support and called upon other companies to emulate this gesture.
