Police in Blantyre have arrested six people for possessing rhino trophies and ivory tusks.
Deputy Public Relations Officer for South West Region Police, Beatrice Mikuwa, said that the suspects are currently in court facing charges related to wildlife crimes.
The six individuals are Omar Nadim, Eliza Mpira, Lonex Lopanda, Hellen Maunjeri, Steven Kandoje, and Chrissy Dailesi.
Mikuwa mentioned that a tip led police to search Omar Nadim’s house, where they also found ivory.
