Water is Life, a borehole drilling company, has called on all stakeholders to engage in environmental restoration efforts in their respective areas as a means of mitigating the effects of climate change.
The company’s Managing Director, Kayipa Banda, made the appeal in Nkhotakota during a tree-planting exercise at borehole sites that have benefited local communities. The initiative was facilitated by the Peter Falvey Foundation through the Wildlife and Environmental Society of Malawi (WESM).
Banda urged other organisations to collaborate with communities in their environmental restoration efforts, emphasising the importance of joint action in addressing environmental challenges.
Group Village Headman Bowa of Traditional Authority Kanyenda in Nkhotakota District highlighted the benefits of the project to the local community, noting its positive impact.
Rashid Malandula, WESM Branch Manager for Dwangwa, commended the donors for the water project, stating that it is improving the livelihoods of the beneficiary communities.
