Scholars tipped to commercialise research

Academic researchers in the country have been urged to commercialise the findings of their research for the benefit of academic institutions and the country at large.

Chief Executive Officer for Saint John of God University, Charles Masulani Mwale, made the call in Mzuzu during the official opening of a two day Mzuzu University Second National Research Dissemination Conference.

He said through inquiry, careful experimentation and evidence based conclusions, research provides the world with solutions to the challenges it faces.

Mwale then urged academic researchers to commercialise their research to contribute to the economic growth of their schools and the country.

Second Vice Chancellor of Mzuzu University, Professor Wapulumuka Mulwafu, said he expects the conference to bear fruit.

95 researchers in various institutions in the country are expected to present their abstracts during the conference.

The theme for the Mzuzu University Second National Research Dissemination Conference is: Research for evidence-based practice and policy formulation.
