Football management improves in Eastern Region

Eastern Region Football Association says all teams in the Durata Premier League and Division One League have managed to fulfil their assignments without any hurdles in the first round of their respective competitions.

The association’s Vice General Secretary, Elia Nyirongo, said this means they are making strides in football administration.

“There was no poor officiation and indiscipline in our leagues and the distance has been cut short. Now, we have our region with 13 teams on each league,” Nyirongo said.

Sports analyst Victor Singano echoed similar sentiments adding that this has proved the association’s doubters wrong.

“This a good development. In the past, I remember when they (Eastern Region teams) were in Southern Region Football Association, most of the teams were moving long distance and some even failed to complete their games in a season,” Singano remarked.

In the Durata Premier League, Changalume Barracks leads the pack with 25 points, while Becks Academy are the anchors with only 4 points, all teams have played 12 games each.
