President of the Republic of Malawi Dr Lazarus Chakwera, who is in the Democratic Republic of Congo-DRC for security talks, is this afternoon attending the swearing in ceremony of President Felix Tshisekedi at Martyrs National Stadium in the Capital Kinshasa.
Fully sponsored by the host, President Chakwera is in the DRC on the invitation of his counterpart to have in person talks on issues bordering on security in Eastern Congo where Malawian troops are based for peacekeeping mission under the United Nations.
The Malawi leader has joined other heads of State and governments at the inauguration of President Tshisekedi who was re-elected in December 2023 for another five-year term of office.
