Ntchisi rolls out MEC registration

Following commencement of the first phase of voter registration by the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), 221 people in Ntchisi District got registered on the first day across the 149 centres in the district.

MEC Centre Supervisor for Ntchisi Local Primary School, which is in Ntchisi South Constituency, Dickson Chagwanjira, expressed hope that the numbers would pick up as more people are showing up for the exercise.

He said all is going on well and encouraged people in the district to undergo the voter registration exercise before the first phase closes.

Thandiwe Kambandanga, one of the people who turned up for registration, said she is happy to have registered and is ready to cast her vote in next year’s election and advised fellow citizens to do the same.

MEC is conducting the first phase of voter registration until 3 November, 2024.
