Malawi’s successful hosting of 2024 Groundnut Tour draws praise from stakeholders

The 2024 Groundnut Tour stakeholders  in Lilongwe have lauded the country for its thorough preparations in hosting the visiting entourage.

This is Malawi’s first ever management of Groundnut Tour.

Minister of Agriculture, Sam Kawale,  international guests and local partners  identified prospects of elevating Malawi’s status as a key groundnut exporter.

In her remarks, Amy Diaz, United States of America’s Deputy Ambassador to Malawi, commended the country’s management of the tour, noting its success has impressed all stakeholders. Similarly, Seamus O’Grady, Ireland’s Ambassador to Malawi, expressed satisfaction.

With a target of producing 1 million metric tonnes of groundnuts per growing season, Malawi aims to solidify its position as a leading groundnut exporter in Africa.

The 2024 Groundnut Tour has been running from 16 April 2024  and concluded today.
