Malawi suffers second defeat

The Malawi National Football team has finished in 4th place in the 4-Nations tournament after losing 2-1 to Zambia in the 3rd place play-offs at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

Zambia took an early lead in the first half with goals from Patson Daka and Clatous Chama.

Lawrence Chaziya then scored the consolation goal for Malawi in the 23rd minute.

Overall, the team performed poorly in the tournament as they also lost the first game 4-0 to Kenya, who have advanced to the final.

Kenya will face Zimbabwe, who defeated Zambia 3-2 to reach the final.

The games served as preparation for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, in which all the teams are participating.
