Malawi, Botswana strengthen ties

Minister of Tourism, Vera Kamtukule says Malawi and Botswana need to strengthen trade and investment ties, which could greatly benefit their populations.

Kamtukule made the remarks in Lilongwe ahead of the 58th celebrations of Botswana’s Independence Day, which falls on September 30.

Taking her turn, Sarah Molosiwa, High Commissioner of the Republic of Botswana to Malawi, who resides in Harare, said the two countries have a strong bond as they share cultural, geographical and political ties and entertainment interests.

She said her government is committed to working with the government of Malawi to accelerate socio-economic development that can benefit the two countries.
