Authorities from Malawi and Mozambique have agreed to embark on civic education in a bid to curb human trafficking.
In a recent meeting in Angonia, Mozambique aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries, Happy Saka, the Consul General for Malawi in Tete and Zambezi province, noted the need for citizens on both sides to know the importance of using proper routes.
The collaborative effort, according to the two parties, will foster safer cross-border movements and also help to address public health challenges posed by the use of unchartered routes.
During the meeting yesterday, among those present was the DC representative Aberto Sinate Thenese from Angonia, Mozambique.
Chikwawa, Nsanje, Dedza, Mangochi and Mwanza are some of the districts sharing borders with Mozambique.
