The body of veteran broadcaster and former MBC employee, Everess Kayanula, has been laid to rest at her home village, Mtsiro, in Senior Chief Kayembe in Dowa District.
She has been described as an advisor and helper for those in need.
Hundreds of people from all walks life gathered at Mdika School Ground in Mtsiro area to pay their last respects to the late Kayanula.
The late broadcaster worked with MBC from 1983 to 2018. She started as an Assistant Announcer and at the time of her retirement, Kayanula served as Controller of Programmes at the public broadcaster.
Born 66 years ago, Everes Kayanula died on July 5, 2024 and is survived by four children and 11 grandchildren.
