Karonga United wins first home match against Mighty Tigers

After three away assignments, Karonga United has registered a first win at home against Mighty Tigers by three goals to one during a match played at Karonga Stadium.

Kennedy Mwakabaghe  for Karonga United was the first to score at 25 minutes, then Saulos Moyo who came in as a substitute added a second in the 64th minute and Allen Chihana scored the third goal after 81 minutes of play while the consolation goal for Mighty Tigers  was scored by Precious Chiuza at the 66th minute.

Speaking after the match, Assistant Coach for Karonga United Chris  Chinkwita said he was happy to win the game.

Player of the match Nanison Mbewe for Karonga United FC

Coach for Mighty Tigers FC Leo Mpulula said his team lost because his boys did not play according to the game plan.

Nanison Mbewe for Karonga United was voted player of the Match.

From the win, Karonga United FC is now in position seven with seven points while Mighty Tigers FC is in position 10 with four points and Silver Strikers FC is leading the pack with 10 points.

Elsewhere, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers were held to a nil-nil draw by Bangwe All Stars.
