JCE EXAMS START ON A GOOD NOTE

Junior Certificate of Education examinations have started on a good note this morning.

A total of 159 thousand 946 candidates are sitting for the examinations up from 135 thousand 619 students last year, representing a 17.9 percent increase.

Minister of Education, Agnes Nyalonje,  told the media that she has received reports that all schools received examination materials on time. She said this after inspecting the commencement of exams at Kamuzu Palace CDSS in Lilongwe city.

Nyalonje however expressed dismay after observing that some students are writing examinations on chairs instead of desks and she has since ordered authorities to ensure all students have desks this afternoon.

“ I have ordered authorities administering exams at this school to ensure that all students sitting for examinations are sitting on desks come this afternoon because it is not ideal that students should be using chairs while writing examinations,’’  Nyalonje said.

This year’s JCE examinations will run from 2 August to  11 August 2022.
