Human Mobile Devices (HMD), a European company that manufactures Nokia smartphones and feature phones, has unveiled its presence and products in the Malawian market.
Speaking at the launch in Lilongwe, HMD Global Head of Sales Operations, Usman Shahid, said the company is partnering Newlook Electronics which is based in Area 2 in Lilongwe as its official distributor.
“We have a Nokia production plant right here in Africa, Kenya where we are producing tailor made phones to suit the needs of the continent,” said Shahid.
The launch of the company in Malawi has provided job opportunities for Malawians.
