Ministry of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare says it is important for the government and non-governmental organisations to work together to achieve the Malawi 2063 agenda.
Minister responsible Jean Sendeza made the remarks in Lilongwe during a press briefing ahead of NGO Day, scheduled for 16 October 2024 at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre.
Sendeza said NGO Day aims to strengthen collaboration between non-governmental organisations and the government, accelerating progress towards Malawi 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
She called upon NGOs to seize this opportunity to showcase their work and impact on the communities they serve.
George Jobe, Vice Chairperson for the Council for Non-Governmental Organisations in Malawi- (CONGOMA), said by discussing challenges, NGOs can identify potential solutions and opportunities for collaboration.
This year’s NGO’s day will be commemorated under the theme “Strengthening Partnerships and Capacity in the NGO Sector: A Panacea for Achieving the MW 2063.”
