First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera has implored the new Netball Association of Malawi leadership to unearth hidden talents the country has for the sport to develop and retain its lost glory.
She said this at Kamuzu Palace when she met the New Netball Association of Malawi Executive Committee, which is led by Vitumbiko Gubuduza.
She said Malawi has talented youths with potential who can be groomed and rise to the global platform.
Madam Chakwera has since urged the new leadership to use the sport to transform individuals, especially young women and girls, by creating pathways that can see them thrive from under-15 teams to national teams.
She has also applauded the new leadership for their commitment and development of new strategies such as the establishment of a netball academy, which she says will develop the sport in the country.
The First Lady has since donated a new kit to the country’s national netball team, The Queens.
