Education : a catalyst for development — Wirima

Education Minister, Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima, says education remains crucial for national development as it provides the human capital necessary for all sectors of the economy.

Wirima made these remarks during the 9th Graduation ceremony of Daeyang University in Lilongwe.

She urged tertiary learning institutions to align their courses with international standards to ensure that graduates receive international recognition.

Soohyuck Chung, who represented Daeyang University’s Chancellor and is also the president of Miracle for Africa Foundation, agreed with the minister’s sentiments.

The event witnessed the graduation of 64 students in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and 66 students in Nursing, each of them achieving various grades.
