Gwengwe believes MCP women are crucial to Chakwera’s 2025 victory

Sosten Gwengwe, Member of Parliament (MP) for Lilongwe – Msinja North, has stressed that the active involvement of women within the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) will significantly contribute to securing more votes for President Dr Lazarus Chakwera in the 2025 General Elections.

Addressing a gathering of women under the banner Chitukuko cha Amai m’Malawi at Nathenje, Gwengwe highlighted the crucial role women play in fortifying MCP’s organizational framework.

Gwengwe exemplified the commitment of veteran politician Hilda Manjakhosi, who actively engages women in Malawi’s development initiatives.

And Manjakhosi pledged to continue mobilising women, fostering self-reliance and providing moral support to MCP.

Dorothy Chirambo, Presidential advisor on Women Affairs, said the development aligns with President Chakwera’s overarching vision.

This was all said during a football bonanza at Nathenje in Lilongwe organised by Gwengwe, where there was a match between Civil Service United Reserves and Katchale Football Club.

The event was also aimed at raising awareness on the recent constituency and ward demarcations by the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC).
