Haircare product users are being advised to return L’Oreal single use shampoo which is found in Dark and Lovely relaxer packs.
According to the Competitions and Fair Trading Commission (CFTC), they have been informed that the manufacturing company L’Oreal South Africa has recalled the product, produced in April 2023, as it has some harmful bacteria.
In a statement signed by the Commission’s Executive Director Lloyds Vincent Nkhoma, the Commission says the manufacturer indicates that use of the affected shampoo may lead to scalp infections in those with compromised immune systems.
CFTC has not yet conducted a survey to establish availability of the recalled shampoo on the local market.
