The National Planning Commission (NPC) has stressed the importance of capacity building among the individuals and areas targeted by research recommendations.
Head of Research at NPC, Andrew Jamali, said this during the annual Southern Regional Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue Conference in Lilongwe.
Jamali asserted that such capacity building would enhance actions and have a positive impact on transforming food systems and the agriculture sector in Malawi and Africa at large.
Monitoring and Evaluation Manager for the Civil Society Agriculture Network (CISANET), Edwin Munthali, mentioned that the conference aims to address existing gaps to ensure Malawi achieves food security, good health, and a healthy environment.
The regional multi-stakeholder dialogue conference was organised by CISANET in partnership with the Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN).
The conference aims to explore challenges and solutions related to food security and food systems in Malawi and Southern Africa.
