YPES launches environmental website to promote sustainability

A local Non-Governmental Organisation dubbed ‘Youths through Progressive Environmental Solutions (YPES)’ has launched an environmental website that has manuals for biomass and briquettes production and tree nursery management.

Chief Executive Officer for YPES, Msayiwale Mwale, said they aim to make steps in promoting environmental sustainability in the country because environmental conservation and sustainable business practices are lagging.

Mwale said this will educate and empower the youth, women and the general public.

Chief Environmental Officer at the Environmental Affairs Department at the Lilongwe City Council, Clement Tikiwa, hailed the initiative and reaffirmed government’s support to young people that are driving sustainable change and has urged more youths to join in and be part of the change.
