Mwapata Institute calls for inclusive agricultural transformation in Malawi

William Chadza, Executive Director of Mwapata Institute, has called for collaboration to achieve inclusive agricultural transformation to ensure food security in the country.

He made the remarks during a results dissemination workshop to show three value chains that can be suitable for Malawi through Policy and Investment Prioritisation approach.

This market-led approach is designed to assist policymakers to prioritise cost-effective policies and investments.

Executive Director for the Bureau of the Food and Agricultural Policy, Mmatlou Kalaba, said that through inclusive agricultural transformation, farmers are assisted to produce products that have high value chains.

In Malawi, 44 % of the economy is based on agricultural food business.
