Agriculture Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC) has announced plans to start subcontracting farmers to produce for both the local and international markets.
Dan Makata, ADMARC’s CEO made the revelations as the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture toured ADMARC depots in Salima.
Makata said ADMARC is now receiving queries from countries like South Africa to start supplying agri-products like beans on a monthly basis.
The corporation has this season allocated K22 billion for maize purchase and an additional K26 billion will be given to the institution to purchase maize for the strategic grain reserves.
