Media Council of Malawi (MCM) believes this year is critical in the country’s democratic journey owing to the 16 September General Elections.
MCM Board Chairperson, Jolly Ntaba, has since urged Malawians to participate in the electoral process since their vote is key.
“Let us approach this election season with a spirit of unity and respect for one another, reinforcing our shared commitment to the values that define us as a nation,” he said in a statement published by MCM.
The publication, titled ‘A New Year Call to Promote an Environment for a Strong Democracy’ has called for professionalism among the media and encouraged the public to report any improper media conduct to the Media Council.
