Wittika’s murder case adjourned

High Court in Lilongwe has adjourned the murder case of Allan Wittika to 17 September 2024. The adjournment follows a request from Wittika’s family to mourn the recent passing of their relative, Willie Zingani, who was laid to rest yesterday.

Senior State Lawyer Papano Kamwendo said the state had planned to present its final witnesses today and tomorrow, but this will now take place on 17 September 2024.

Judge Mzonde Mvula has also reserved his ruling on bail for the accused, Lester Maganga. Maganga’s lawyer, Gonjetso Dikiya, said the court is still considering the defence’s arguments and will notify all parties once a decision is made.

Wittika was killed in September 2023 and Maganga faces charges of murder and possession of live ammunition.
