Voting for local government by-election in Mwasa Ward in Mangochi Municipality is currently underway.
Voting has started on a high note as evidenced by a huge turn out of people who have come to cast their ballot this morning.
The local government by-election is being conducted following the death of Councillor Edna Yusuf Jose in 2022, who was also Mayor for Mangochi Municipal Council.
About 3,797 people registered to cast their vote in the by-election.
The by-election had to be suspended twice due to misunderstandings by stakeholders.
