Viral Conjunctivitis outbreak hits Mchinji

Seven cases of Viral Conjunctivitis or Pink Eye have been recorded in Mchinji.

Director of Health and Social Services for Mchinji, Dr Yohane Mwale, has in a statement said the first five cases were identified at Mchinji Police Station involving individuals in police custody.

Two additional cases were reported in traditional authorities Nyoka and Mduwa respectively.

Meanwhile, the health office has urged residents in the border district to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent the transmission of the virus.
