Reckless drivers fined in Balaka

Balaka Senior Resident Magistrate’s Court has ordered two drivers to pay different fines for traffic offences.

The first accused person, Yassidu Allie,32, has been ordered to pay a fine of K400,000 or in default serve a 12 month-jail term while the second accused person, Steven Ndau Tsinambuto,41, has been ordered to pay a fine of K300,000 or in default serve 12 months behind bars.

Balaka Police publicist, Gladson M’bumpha, says Alie recklessly drove an unregistered motor vehicle, seriously injuring Trevour Ngwende while the second accused person, Steven Ndau Tsinambuto, recklessly drove a motor vehicle registration number LL 3485 Hinno Lorry on a public road which resulted into the death of George Mlangeni.

In court, they all pleaded guilty and paid their fines.
