Petroleum importers provides safe water to Linyangwa Health Centre

People in the area of Senior Chief Lukwa in Kasungu District are all smiles after Petroleum Importers Limited installed a water pump at Linyangwa Health Centre.

The health centre, which has a maternity wing, has been operating without water for over three years as the pump which was supplying water to the facility was stolen.

According to the Officer-In-Charge for Linyangwa Health Centre, Gertrude Magomero, guardians of expectant women have been drawing water from a nearby school for use during delivery.

Medical Officer for Kasungu District Hospital, Ulemu Zulu, commended PIL for the donation, saying it will help reduce maternal deaths.

Finance Manager for PIL, Kambani Mchiela, said the donation is a sign of their commitment to being socially responsive in times of emergencies and when need arises.
