The Ministry of Health has announced that Malawi has recorded 11 cases of Rubella in Neno District.
In a statement, Health Secretary Samson Mndolo has disclosed that the cases have been recorded following tests conducted on a suspected Measles case and the patient’s contacts.
Its symptoms include a spotty rush that starts from the face and then spreads to other parts of the body.
According to Mndolo, the disease is self-limiting and lasts a maximum of one week, calling for the public to adhere to hygiene practices.
Health authorities are monitoring the situation to identify possible hotspots and take appropriate control measures.
