National Bank of Malawi has donated a blood bank fridge worth K40 million to the Mangochi District Health Office.
The Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Harold Jiya, said the donation is part of the bank’s socio-corporate investment towards life-changing initiatives in communities.
“It is our expectation that the blood bank fridge will help ease challenges the district health office is facing in the blood supply chain to health facilities,” said Jiya.
Director of Health and Social Services for Mangochi District Council Dr Henry Chibowa Junior, said the blood storage facility will make a difference because health facilities will now have easy access to safe and adequate blood for patients such as children and pregnant women.
